Some pictures from Lauren's wedding
Check out my pictures from Lauren's bridal luncheon at the Four Seasons here. You can also see my pictures from getting ready at the hotel here. I know there are not very many pictures, nor are there any pictures of me... but Mom did a much better job getting pictures at the church and at the reception.
The whole weekend was amazing. Lauren was a stunning bride. All the bmaids felt so special to be with her and stand in honor of her. Lindsey, Shannon (her childhood friend) and I did the toast at the reception. We stood right in front of Lauren and Brian's table. It felt like we were only speaking to them... the rest of the room just faded away. We talked about how were are lucky to be her friend, but it is an honor to be her sister (Lauren calls us her sisters, bc she does not have any family sisters). We ended saying as her sisters we know that her and Brian are a perfect match. Cheers to a friend, a sister and now a wife... here's to Lauren and Brian!
All the things that Mom mentioned were Lauren's attention to detail... but my favorite was faux fur shawls we all got a a gift to wear over our bmaids dresses.
Charles had a good time too hanging out with the boys. A Chapel Hill friend, Sean, is living in Chicago now and dating one of my SMC girls. So, the two of them hung out when I was doing the bmaid thing. Lindsey and JB hosted us in their new place the nights leading up to the wedding. Ha! I think Charles was the coldest he has ever been walking home from Charlie's Ale house to Lindsey's place, it was 13 degrees!!! Right, Charles?!

Lauren's wedding

It was a bright, sunny and bitterly cold day for Lauren and Brian's wedding in Chicago. The church was Brian's family church St Bernadine's in Forest Park. A few things always go wrong but the Sacrament of Marriage happens no matter what. The priest, Fr Grady was a stitch telling bridesmaids to line up and get the show on the road. The programs were late but beautiful, silver and beaded, a theme for the wedding. We had sparklers to light after the
ceremony.

The reception was held at the Armour House about 20 minutes from the hotel via shuttle bus at 6:00pm. It was a beautiful mansion that Mrs Macchia and Lauren enhanced with their vision of a winter's night, all silver and white. Irene had saved tree branches which were sprayed silver and potted in silver pots. There were 4 fireplace mantles decorated with 25 candle sticks, candlabras and candles columns, each numbered as to placement on the mantle, stunning,
Each tables had several vases of real roses in bunches plus tea lights. The piece' de resistance
was a basket of white sequined spa slippers to wear dancing to the fabulous band with 3 vocalists.

Sundae Nooz
Well, hello all and to all a gud nite.
It's getting to that time of the year when Santa knows if you've been naughty or nice.
It's also that time of the year when it's getting harder and harder to find the time to BLOG. I miss you guys and your comments and pictures. But I know that I'll be seeing some of you sooner and definitely later this month.
Snowy here and cold, lake effect snow, 18-22 degrees, a white Christmas for sure.
Chaz and family-
Ray was most excited to tell me about his winning a limo ride with 3 other St Francis boys for top effort in sales. He and Lily and Chaz went for a photo shoot at a nearby "castle" and there were some scarey things/people there. Ray's class has been invited by Kings Island to "drop in" to the inauguration of their new water park/hotel next spring? One of the his classmates dad moved his family to Ohio to build it and had some influence on who would be first. Lily big nooz was how much fun she and Sandra and Dad had going bowling. She really liked it.
CC and Charles-
Her big nooz was the successful wine and cheese party she and Charles hosted for the Young Adult Catholic group from her church on Sat night. It was a big winner with folks staying until midnight (7-9). She used all their wine glasses, baked brie, fondue, portwine cheeseballs, candles and ribbons on the the food table. Our own Martha Stewart - yay! She still had a glow for work the next day at 8:00 :-( for Belks. They are all ready for the big wedding this weekend in Chicago leaving Thursday. Charles asked Tomma for a warm coat to wear "up north".
We are sharing a suite with them for Sat night. It 's a fancy wedding with the MOB changing from her wedding outfit to a reception outfit. We'll keep you in photos next week.
Lisa
Caught her on the way back from bowling Sunday night without Brian who was home sick with the flu. She had gotten them tickets for the Sat show of Manheim Steamroller and they had to leave before the end - just feeling too bad. She did really well in bowling. Her average is 108 and she threw 2 more games 134 and 135? Must be the pink shoes. She is going to get the C tree on Tuesday her last day off on a 7 day rotation. Sales are down at Gap nationwide. Brady wants her to go to work at Dicks ( a sporting goods shop).
Kelly and Jay
Tomma called her on the way to the farm on Sat morning. She had already finished her run. Jay had gotten her slip-on spikes for her running shoes and they worked really well . But she emailed her marathon running buddies that Sunday was off due to the snow and cold. Kelly, ask Chaz about his allergies. Kelly also reported that she and Maria and Chaz had a joint video chat last week on their Macs - cool.
Momma and Tomma
Boy, the kitchen room at the farm is really shaping up. I'm so proud of the work Tom has put into the drywall ceiling, priming and painting. It makes the room seems so much bigger, of course there is no furniture in it. Next big job is buying and varnishing the knotty pine slats before putting those up on the walls.
Check out Tom Cronley's blog for pictures of a Mississippi thanksgiving and baptism. Click on the word- pictures- and it will take you to a Kodak gallery of the Cronley weekend. Also, he mentioned a "Wiki" so I clicked on that and it is a summary of everyone's (Joe Cronleys)address, phone number, email address, birthday, anniversary and a spot for short notes. Very nice. So if you need to get in touch with them, that's the place. Also Happy Anniversary to Patty and Luke. I remember that date as it was Uncle Joe's birthday 12/2.
Luff ewe all and to all a gud n-eye-tah.

Castles and Bowling
This weekend, I took the kids to a local castle (made by a driven castle afficionado in the 20's) for a photo shoot for my neighbor's high school basketball poster. They really loved it.

Sandra (not pictured) received her new bowling ball for the school bowling team, so we tried it out at the local lanes. Lily went and really had a blast!

She excitedly celebrated every enthusiastic throw no matter what.

Oh, Here is the poster:

Wine and Cheese Party was a Success!
Hey Family... just a quick note and picture or two... Charles and I hosted a wine and cheese party for the Young Adult group from Holy Infant church. Not really knowing how many people would give up their Saturday for a "church party"...we had a great turn out! I would say that we had about 22 people (singles, couples, friends of friends, one little baby). The party included a fun white elephant ornament exchange. It was nice to hear the guests say, "what a nice house", "good food", "you have pretty Christmas decorations" and "thanks for putting this together"...
Charles and I took care of the food/snackies. We had bake brie with crackers, sausage dip (aka liquid crack, because you can not stop eating it), meatballs, Portwine cheese ball and crackers, and chocolate fondue with carmel squares, marshmallows and sugar wafers for dipping. I dressed the table with ribbon down the middle with 3 goblets turned up side down with candles sitting on top of the glasses (see tablescape picture). Everyone brought wine to share with the crowd, mainly Rieslings and reds. One topic of convo was that it is fun to buy wine based how cool the label is! The last couple said their good byes at MIDNIGHT! Fun times!
Enjoy... can't wait to see you guys in Ohio...

It is hard to tell, but that's our manger. The pieces of the manger are hand carved by Charles's dad. Can you notice the Wisemen are at the far end of the mantel???
