Hey Family... just a quick note and picture or two... Charles and I hosted a wine and cheese party for the Young Adult group from Holy Infant church. Not really knowing how many people would give up their Saturday for a "church party"...we had a great turn out! I would say that we had about 22 people (singles, couples, friends of friends, one little baby). The party included a fun white elephant ornament exchange. It was nice to hear the guests say, "what a nice house", "good food", "you have pretty Christmas decorations" and "thanks for putting this together"...
Charles and I took care of the food/snackies. We had bake brie with crackers, sausage dip (aka liquid crack, because you can not stop eating it), meatballs, Portwine cheese ball and crackers, and chocolate fondue with carmel squares, marshmallows and sugar wafers for dipping. I dressed the table with ribbon down the middle with 3 goblets turned up side down with candles sitting on top of the glasses (see tablescape picture). Everyone brought wine to share with the crowd, mainly Rieslings and reds. One topic of convo was that it is fun to buy wine based how cool the label is! The last couple said their good byes at MIDNIGHT! Fun times!
Enjoy... can't wait to see you guys in Ohio...

It is hard to tell, but that's our manger. The pieces of the manger are hand carved by Charles's dad. Can you notice the Wisemen are at the far end of the mantel???

CC, great job, I know you were a little apprehensive about the party, looks great. Remember to move the wisemen a little everyday. Don't play fresbee in the house, that's how pieces get broken...Chaz and I know.
Lisa, thanks... however, I rebroke a shepherd's hook the other night... opps... thank goodness for super glue.
Thank Jesus for good glue, though Joseph still had a major head wound and ended up at the back facing at an awkward angle to hide our transgression through the season.
It looked like a really nice party. Look forward to our get-together.
I may have to bring the old mangy, oops, manger set to Charlies and it could rotate each year to another family. Then you guys can repair it after frisbee fights. I would want photo documentation that it was put up, tho.
Funny, funny you guys. See, I get to enjoy all the "transgressions" of Chaz and Lisa and the manger because I never broke "nuffing." (;>)
And, CC, nice work on the party. Just a thought, you could use a white table cloth on that table, girl! Everything looks great. What a fun party!
Kelly, ah yes, with the white table cloth, the ribbon would really pop! Thanks for the suggestion. Mom is encouraging me to have this be an annual event, so next time I will have to remember to use the white table cloth.
