Jay and Kelly go skating!

Hey everyone,
Just a quickee post about things going on here in at the Wood-McNeilis homestead. As we prepare for our upcoming ski trip in March during Spring Break, Jay has been looking for new ways to work his leg muscles and knees. So, we've been roller skating the last two weekends in a row.
Here are a few pics--Jayman skating and me "forever the backwards skater."

Both weekends, my friend Jana and her Russian adoptive son, Alex, have joined us as well. He's a determined little boy in learning how to skate. He even skated on in-line skates last weekend (only his third time ever skating). He just puts his head down and skates as fast as he can. We've really enjoyed the activity and different groups of people at the rink. Look at this picture of Jay, Alex, and Jana...do you see the gal in the pink shirt and long hair on the left there? That's a 60-something year old woman who's been there everyday we've gone and it's clear she skates there every weekend! She's a hoot, and quite the boogie-skater (Maria). But you won't catch me skating with her.

I recommend skating to those looking for a new activity--plus it's still fairly cheap entertainment for 2 hours on a Saturday or Sunday.

Finally, Jay and I have gotten back into some house repairs in advance of dad and colleen's visit next month. We're doing some trim work in the ceiling beams, repainting, and some mudding in order to redo the ceiling paint and finish near a newly exposed part of the ceiling. It's always good to have house guest--it's motivation to get house projects done.

Hoo-eee, what fun! All those friday night trips to Marion's roller rink paid off. I think we should get a group together at Santhra's graduation, if there is time. Just like the bowling sessions in Berea.
It's sunny today in MI, still snow on the ground but melting, in time for another snowy weekend forecast out at the farm. Luff ewe

I love it! Great pictures. Jay looks great on skates!

Lisa, Sandra's graduation is June 9th, I think.

Kel, I remember seeing the boogie skaters at Rollerworld in Portage, they would always skate to the same song every time. Rollerworld had the best blue raspberry slushies!
